Toy buying in a weakened economy has sure put the clamps on alot of our toy buying experience. But for some the market has made little impact. Props and replicas have seen a slight decline in prices allowing some of us a chance to purchase them in a otherwise market that is struggling. Master Replicas continues to run strong in it's selling power especially in the Star Wars line. But even some of the more rare items are drawing over $1000.00.

But don't let that discourage you as there are still many fine MR items out there for a steal. For example the Luke Skywalker Blaster limited to 1500 can still be gotten for under $300. If you have not seen this item it is a beautiful peice and limited to only 1500 units is sure to climb in value. As with the Han Solo Blaster, although released in higher production numbers the Han Blaster is a teriffic value.

 For others the Rebel Blaster and Luke Skywalker V2 Lightsaber still are within most peoples reach, but this trend will not last forever. Get them now while you can. Investing in Limited Edition props can be risky but if you watch your p's and q's the hunt can be enjoyable.

Some helpful hints to maintain collectibilty is always keep the original packaging. So many people toss the brown carton and packing away after proudly displaying thier items. This mistake can cost $75 to $100 on the return. In addition when ever possible make sure your prop is well maintained. Collectors are very particuar and dont mind paying top dollar if the item is well taken care of.

Also really check out your collectiable, you could be sitting on a rare Artist Proof or a extremely low number. Both of which can make the difference between profit and loss.
